Cyberg: Solo Rivera Digital Marketplace

Meet Cyberg.

Cyberg is a global IT distributor that helps manufacturers (like Dell, HP, Cisco, etc.) get their products (hardware, software, networking gear) to resellers and managed service providers. They offer value-added services as well, like logistics, configuration, training, financing, marketing, and more.

The Assignment.

When I joined the team, Cyberg was exploring what it would take to become a solutions aggregator to help partners develop and sell integrated technology solutions as a service. My team was tasked with to defining a bespoke application where software resellers can quickly scale, launch and manage a broad range of cloud services, including Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS). The platform also allowed partners to take advantage of advanced offerings such as assessment, migration, security and monitoring—enabling hassle-free cloud transitions for their customers.

During my tenure with Cyberg, I led a team of 4 UX professionals to deliver designs for their new platform. The team was responsible for working with stakeholders to gather requirements, design prototypes, obtain stakeholder approvals and ensure successful developer handoff. We also created a design system to ensure consistency across all designs.

TOOLS.

  • Miro: Used to shape feature workshops and gather stakeholder requirements

  • DevOps: Maintain a backlog of design work and ensure steady handoff by integrating design and development stories

  • Sketch: Create and maintain all designs and the design system

  • InVision: Demonstrate prototypes, collect feedback and approvals

  • Storybook: Design system documentation for developers (integrated with Sketch)

RESULTS.

My team and I completed extensive prototype designs for the platform across several features. Our team successfully extended the client relationship year over year, and added additional work, including bringing a professional agilist to the team, additional designers, implementing a design system, and continuing to deliver solid design work for the project for 2+ years.
